Hi Friends,
Toward the end of last year I felt a nudge to put together a manuscript of the short prose and poetry I’ve shared on social media for the past many years. Not all of it, of course, as that would be a five thousand page book, and who wants to read that?
I sent the manuscript to my Big Love editor at New World Library. He got back to me within a couple days, having passed it around to the acquisitions team, all of whom wanted to publish my book. I was delighted, not only to have another book out there, but one which was mostly already written. If you remember my last essay about writer’s block, you’ll know that a mostly completed book is just the kind of book I’ve felt prepared to work on these days.
The book, titled Enough as You Are (EAYA), will be released this year on October 17th, which is both my brother Jimmy’s birthday and my sister Rose’s wedding anniversary. I see this as an auspicious publication date.
If you enjoy my posts on social media, and my writing in general, I’m confident you’ll like EAYA. Here’s a taste of the vibe, from the synopsis: In Enough as You Are, Stabile delivers a heart-expanding collection of short prose rooted in the belief that each of us is beautiful, whole, and enough — just as we are. In the same wise, humorous, and unembellished voice that has garnered him hundreds of thousands of followers online, Stabile assures us that our worth is inherent, our authenticity bridges the path to freedom, and with willingness and commitment, deep self-love is possible for each of us.
You may follow many authors on social media, and if so have likely seen numerous requests to pre-order their books before the publication date. One main reason for this is because the pre-order sales inform the number of copies Amazon and others will order. The more pre-orders, the bigger the overall book order. Call me a size queen, but I happen to prefer bigger book orders. Another reason I believe the pre-order period is important is because I see everything as energy, and the more energy that can be built around the book before its publication day, the more energy the book is likely to have once it’s released. Momentum, baby!
With an intention to get this momentum going, here comes my first request to pre-order EAYA:

If you have the means and feel inspired, consider ordering a copy for a friend too. Even your non-reader friends will be able to dive into this book, as each page stands alone, so they can literally read one page (sometimes just a couple sentences), be done for the day and tell themselves they got their reading in.
When Big Love was published, nearly six years ago now, I didn’t do a very good job of promoting it. I was self-conscious about over-promoting the book and took an extreme turn in the other direction. I didn’t talk very much about it on my social media channels. And when I did, it wasn’t with a call to action: as in, please consider supporting my work by buying my book.
I’m not going to under-promote Enough as You Are, and I’m not going to worry about over-promoting it, in part because I feel really good about the book and suspect if you’re a subscriber to this newsletter, you’ll enjoy EAYA too. Also, I see the release of EAYA as an opportunity for new readers to discover Big Love, as well. The content in both books is evergreen and, I believe, filled with writing that will encourage, uplift, invite contemplation, and have you feeling understood and seen.
